About The Artwork
I was given a beautiful portrait of a girl applying makeup from my friend, the photographer. She was hanging on my wall for a year. One night, I was looking into her eyes, and I saw something horrible. Emptiness, fear. I took her off the wall and painted over. I wanted to create something that would give strength to all children, who were abused, to speak up. Nobody should hurt a child. Ever.
