About The Artwork

I read somewhere that it was in 1938 – a year of some relevance to me – that, in the States, they first applied the now well known illumined decorations to juke-boxes. In my memory a juke-box has become one of the symbols of the fifties and sixties, when I saw it spreading as a burst and fever among the youth, even in Europe, trying to forget the wars, with an irresistible wish for music and dance, in search of joy, amusement and delight.

To the lessons of Maria Dal Conte, my Teacher of Art at High School, and later, after University, to the lessons of Liliana Barbieri, an artist from Brera Academy in Milan, I owe most of my beginnings in artistic activity. To my teacher of Philosophy, Renato Tisato, and, later, to the acquaintance of Rossana Bossaglia, Professor of the History of Art, I think I owe a great deal as well.
