‘Noon on a Goa Beach’ is a painting with water colour washes and thick felt pen on big sized, thick, rough-textured handmade paper. In this painting, Samir has captured the peak noon scene on the sandy beach with bathers resting under bamboo roofed shacks provided by the beach restaurants. The lemonish-yellow colour of the sandy beach in the foreground with the bluish sea and pale blue shade of the sky with the light filtering through the brownish thatched roof all add up to the hot noon ambience. The figure with a white hat under the thatched roof further adds to the effect.
