About The Artwork
This acrylic painting on canvas was inspired by one of my many discoveries of old farm buildings and barns. I was able to capture this barn door on my camera and later paint it in my studio. It shows the beauty of the rusted lock mechanism as well as the decayed wood. I didn't know it at the time but a horsefly had landed on the door as I was shooting it. Had to leave that in!

I am an east coast born and raised artist. Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised north of there in the small riverfront colonial town of Bristol, PA in historic Bucks County. My training is primarily self taught and also with tutoring by the accomplished painter William T. Bagley, schooling at the Museum School in Philadelphia and the University of Alaska while living there for 3 years.
