As the worlds of spectacle and spectators intertwine on the boardwalk and side streets, that's when the true magic happens. It is here where artistic individualism poetically coalesces into mass display. One of my all time favorite from my "Coney Island Love Affair" series. Image exhibited at Skeeball, Real Art Ways, satellite exhibition of “Coney Island:Visions of an American Dreamland, 1861-2008” Wadsworth Atheneum Hartford, CT It's very difficult attempting to verbally describe what it feels like being in Coney Island. It's like how when you see something that catches your eye, you turn to who you're with and say,"look at that!" Every time I'm there I want others to experience it. It's a place that I’ve always been intrigued with. I want to show who the people are that make Coney Island what it is. Each image is its own story, all vital elements of what draws me to this collective energy. I'm originally from Brooklyn, New York and have lived in both Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Brooklyn which is just down the road from Coney Island with only Brighton Beach in between. I love the people who live there, work there and who visit. I think about all the history contained on this small stretch of land and feel honored to be a part of it whenever I'm there. My series, Coney Island Love Affair is an ongoing project of mine which I started in the summer of 2000. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer day in Brooklyn. This is a limited edition of 25 - printed on metal 24"x24"

My work is a combination of moments captured and scenes created. When I see something that catches my eye and I say, "look at that!" I capture it, to then set it free and share with the world. I also allow myself to experiment and see how I can push boundaries and challenge "traditional" expectations of what photography looks like as an attempt to broaden an understanding of the power of influence and perspective in our everyday lives.
