About The Artwork

A quiet study of the woods near my home in the north of Italy from a project that I've been working on for the past 10 years or so. I'm drawn to those small corners of simple woodland where nature is left on it’s without being disturbed or managed. Humble places where nobody really goes. I’m not looking for the spectacular but rather for small, intimate details, examples of beauty in the simplicity and complexity of nature’s design. Like much of my work this series is inspired by Japanese art, in particular the use of space and line. The series was exhibited during Milan Design Week and at the Due Piani Gallery, Italy in 2019. Fine-art print on Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. This is a 310gr acid-free paper with a beautiful textured surface. Printed with archival pigment ink, signed and numbered on the back. The dimensions refer to paper size. Actual image size depends on the format, filling the paper as much as possible while leaving a small white border to aid handling and framing.
