Cycling in Manama Photograph

Walking in Manama was always different, a sort of serenity can be felt in its narrow alleyways and busy markets. During one of the site visits for my masters dissertation (which was concerned with the evolution of Manama), I spotted a beautiful traditional house and the shot was unexpectedly encountered by a man riding his bicycle. It reminded me that the past civilizations and identities of Manama are still proudly standing for everyone to witness, despite the many changes that the city encountered. Manama is a living testimony of a diverse multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural community, which is evident in the existing architectural features in the form of traditional houses and worship places that represent the city‘s exceptional identity for coexistence.
