David Bowie Photograph - Limited Edition of 1

David Bowie is one of those rare and true musical chameleons who has kept people of all different generations captivated with his many disguises: folksinger, androgyne, alien, decadent, blue-eyed soul man, modern rock star - each one spawning a league of imitators. His most innovative, theatrical and daring album Ziggy Stardust made him one of rock music's greatest icons. "There's a Starman waiting in the sky," says Bowie in that strange voice filled with premonitions. "He'd like to meet us but he's afraid he'd blow our minds." And he was right he did blow all our minds. 'I photographed David Bowie in 1996, just before his 50th birthday. A few years later he recommended me to his wife Iman to photograph her. We set up a meeting. This was before he had bought an house in London, but I went to their hotel to meet them both, and it was like stepping back in time to the 1940s. With butler service and secret code names done, I was just tucking into the biscuits when this amazingly beautiful woman came over to introduce herself, ‘Hi Ian, I’m Iman.’ Bowie followed shortly after, this at least made me feel a bit more comfortable, having had met him previously. But I was just like stunned while, so early in the morning, how good looking Bowie looked; it was like he had just got out of bed and stumbled down a bit bedraggled, but still looking like the coolest human being you have ever met.' ITEM SPECIFICS: * Two portraits with image size 30 x 28.5 inch / 762 x 724 mm. There is a 4 inch white surround border. The two prints are mounted on dibond. The final artwork, including the white surround border, would be two prints each measuring approx. h 38 x w 36.5 inch / 965 mm x 927 mm. TECHNOLOGY / MATERIALS USED: * All prints are made using the Lambda printing process and the highest quality colour paper materials. * All print work, unless instructed otherwise, is mounted onto Dibond. Nb: Dibond is a lightweight composite of aluminium and PVC. * All artworks are supplied with a subframe and wall holding bracket which allows for the hanging/displaying of your artwork.
