Dead sea sunrise Photograph

I left the Purim craziness in depth of the Jerusalem old city streets and went for the Dead sea well after the midnight. The Moon was shining upon the rocks of the Judean desert in its fullness, the wind was throwing sand and salt into my eyes. While listening to the hebrew of my companions, I half expected a bedouin caravan appearing out of nowhere. The soil was dead, the water was dead, no trees, no flowers were growing anywhere. I have not seen any animals, not even a scorpion. We were sitting in the hot water spring, barbecuing our asses, talking, laughing, listening to the silence. Everything felt so dead. Until the night has started to change. Suddenly the light started to shift, the deep black starry night changed to the midnight blue, to the violet, to the lighter blue, to the pink, to the yellow and finally, to the white. In the whiteness, the sun poked out to say hello bit by bit and the whole spectrum of the colors has started changing again. The red, the orange, the white and finally, some blue from the skies reflected itself on the water surface again. The Dead sea sunrise was the most extraordinary visual show I have ever experienced. The picture I took represents half of the magic I have witnessed that night at this ancient site.
