About The Artwork
Gao Maohui’s story: Gao Maohui was born in 1972 in this Jingkou village, Sichuan province, he lived though Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008. His house was built in 2006, after earthquake, government repaired his house and decorated in uniformity with other houses in the town. Gao Maohui is working in the village committee, his wife and daughter have left the village for jobs, Gao lives with a cat for two years. The family apart phenomenon is very common in rural China.
