From the series false paradises Is a strong reflection on the duality between desire as a propeller to achieve goals, and the Buddhist concept of desire as cause of all suffering. The practice it is not only a critique of consumer society, but rather a personal enquiry on the troubles of desire, and how someone’s daily life can be another person’s paradise. The digital montage and collage techniques to portray this quest, where it can be seen how architecture and landscape merges with people, reflecting their inner thoughts and concepts of paradise. The warm tonal range, given by the material the works are printed in, brings a daydream sensation that unifies the series.

Colombia
Art was always there, although I tried to go elsewhere I always came back, until I decided to stay, I was born in Bucaramanga (Colombia) and I am an artist and a self-taught photographer. My work is a necessity to adjust the world to what I feel, it comes from the subjectivity of my photographs which are enriched by mixing them, being carried sometimes by instinct. Nowadays, with digital cameras and editing software it is much easier to create good images, and I feel that I have to go further. My work evolves through three different paths: Conceptual, which is not random but a specific quest around an idea; Aesthetic, where I try to say more with less elements, fighting against my baroque instinct; and finally the Material, where different supplies can help me explore photography beyond its 2D. My projects come when I realize certain themes are constant and I go in depth on them, which helps me to get to know myself better and to expand my practice.
