About The Artwork

It was at Bahía de Gibara that Christopher Columbus first landed on Cuba on October 28, 1492 and discovered "America". Admiral Columbus had remarked in his log of Gibara's environs that “it is the most beautiful land that human eyes saw.” (All photographs are part of numbered and signed limited editions. The photograph exists in maximum of five hand-signed and numbered pieces. Highest-quality pigment ink prints on archival MUSEO Artistry Canvas with a special protective coating. The canvas is stretched on frame and ready to hang.)

Michal Josephy is an anthropologist, travel journalist and lecturer of science journalism and visual anthropology at Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. As a photographer, he focuses on cross - cultural "search of beauty" and everyday life captured by street - photography.
