About The Artwork
Contemporary Peruvian fashion designs are inspired by Andean textiles. However, in my opinion, much of that fashion has committed acts of cultural appropriation. My photography tries to create a fashion satire taking as its axis the mother figure, which is very important within the Andean culture but within the standards of fashion it was rejected by many designers and publicists.
