For every generation, there comes a visionary - someone who changes the way people see. Most of us are affected by visual stimulus, and Ernst Haas changed the way we all see color. Without knowing it, he affected my early work and in some cases, even when I was shooting black and white. There are rules, yet fine photographers, painters, and writers always break these rules. But Ernst's images gave us a new set of rules. The last thing an artist wants to do is copy someone else. I think it's safe to say it's unacceptable. He taught me how to see what was not there. Once you bathe yourself in that technology, the world opens up for you. Your pallet is infinite.
