About The Artwork

Photography Series Description: "Experiment 752" This evocative photograph captures an improvised homestead, a collage of living carved from disparate elements. It's a raw exposition of human ingenuity in the face of necessity. The structure, a haphazard assembly of wood, metal, and domestic miscellanea, speaks to a relentless human spirit to adapt and inhabit. Amidst this collage, modern accoutrements like satellite dishes stand in stark contrast to the makeshift nature of the dwelling, suggesting a bridging of worlds—between modern connectivity and the enduring need for shelter. The surrounding clutter, a testament to daily life, is unapologetically displayed, offering a narrative of survival and functionality over form. The image's power lies in its unvarnished truth, the beauty of function in survival. It's an invitation to witness the authenticity of a life that thrives in adaptation, challenging preconceived notions of home and comfort. This photograph is not just a capture of space but a lens into resilience and the essence of making a home against the odds.

Multidisciplinary artist and curator Boris Marinin was born in 1987. Holds a BFA in Screen Arts, and MFA in multidisciplinary arts at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. His artistic process is influenced mainly by self-study, the practice of frustration, and his psychoanalytic analysis. Artists Judith Sasportas, Joseph Beuys, Matthew Barney, and the musical genre Black Metal, inspired artistic decisions and are an integral part of his developmental process. In his art, Marinin tries to differentiate and capture the sublimity of nature using amorphous forms, that do not necessarily relate to the plain material world we know. With his analytical art, Marinin will take us on a journey where we will be exposed to the movement of nature, extinction, and opportunity while uncovering personal interpretations of the connection between an artist and an object in order to show us what lies behind our dimension. Boris Marinin currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria
