This picure won the FRESCO Foundation (NYC) 2019 Nova Prize. ”Eero Jääskeläinen’s photographic practice is informed by his training as a graphic designer, as evidenced by his focus on highlighting and distorting linear elements throughout his creative process. Taking painterly approach to the medium, the Finnish artist is interested in capturing the effects of the ubiquitous, hidden energies of the urban experience. In Infinity, through slow-shutter photography, he creates lyrical, abstract photographs that are suggestive of the circulating forces within the protean urban body. The strands of captured light may also be seen as oblique references to cosmic imagery or even certain formal components of street art; however, the artist hopes viewers will engage and decipher his work based on their own instinct. - FRESCO Foundation, New York The edition is signed and numbered. As a photofrapher I consider myself as a urban inspired light artist. The camera is my “paintbrush” and lights are my “palette”. I’m interested in cityscapes, lights, architecture, people and nature. I’m inspired by shapes, contrasts between light and shadow, small genuine moments and details. I believe in the power of picture. I won the FRESCO Foundations 2019 Nova Prize among six other artist. There were 68 submission from more than 20 countrys who took part in the open call. The Nova Prize group exhibition were held in HRY Space (New York SoHo) 1.3.–8.3.2019. The works on this page are from my latest two solo exhibitions “Pictura Luce Effecta.” The pictures represents a new style I discovered in 2016. “Pictura Luce Effecta” comes from latin and means a light painting. All the lights seen in my works are from lively urban environments. My primary focus is to have more possibilities to exhibit my work. I want to develop my current style and skills as a photographer.
