This photograph was taken in Seattle. This image is part of my Interiors series. The image blends many concepts and elements: human-made structure, minimalism, abstract design, and textures. Interior spaces have always fascinated me. There is a mystery to what might happen in these spaces that isn’t always obvious or predictable. Doorways, hallways, and staircases are portals that provide opportunities to be surprised when you move from one space into the next. These images attempt to expose the uniqueness of interior spaces as an aesthetic experience where the viewer at times is a voyeur or a participant. Each image has layers of narrative that begins, for the most part, with the absence of people and continues to an interpretation of the items in the space. At times it is a mystery and at other times it is simply self-explanatory. The image is a giclée print using baryta fiber paper. Limited edition of five.
