About The Artwork

Moonwalking on Ice Perito Moreno Glacier, Patagonia, Argentina, South America Around a 1.5-hour bus from El Calafate, the bus nears the first viewpoint. Taken aback you will not believe your eyes at the stunning vista and expanse of one of the last advancing glaciers on earth. Occasional glimpses through the trees of this 250km ice formation captivate the heart. A small boat transfers you across the icy sea for half an hour to the start of a mesmerising experience. Crampons are strapped on for the controlled 1.5-hour mini-trek on top of this glacier. In driving rain, icy hues change as sporadic as the random swirling weather. The sensation of walking with crampons on this mammoth and spectacular piece of history is incredible! Finishing our trek by a 30-metre deep cavern, our guide sets up a flimsy table for whiskey, glacial chunks of ice, chocolate biscuits, and toasting - perfect ending… Print: Printed on 100% cotton, acid-free, museum quality paper with archival pigmented inks - has a 2"-3" white border with matte finish. Canvas: Archival acid-free canvas, laminated with protective lustre surface, hand-stretched over 100% renewable solid pine stretcher bars, 1.25" thick.

Nilla Sacchetti is a travel photographer and writer from Australia. Inspired by greats such as Ansel Adams, Robert Capa, Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Vivian Maier, documenting life’s realities devoid of artificial nuances is Nilla’s objective. Nilla's work captures fragments of reality, which convey a true and raw representation of realism. Interchanging between film and digital mediums, Nilla captures a spectacular vista or an image of poverty that narrates a story without words. A flash is rarely used. “With only minimal post-production, I am passionate about retaining the moment’s visual integrity, whilst providing evidence of the socio-cultural contradictions surrounding an underdeveloped country.” The past decade has seen Nilla’s work exhibited and sold internationally, with select group shows in Amsterdam, Bologna, London, Brisbane, and New York. And solo exhibitions in Brisbane (Australia) and Cerisano (Italy). Nilla’s work also gained recognition with silver awards from the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers), and is displayed in private collections globally. Nilla's love for photography started as a child and on leaving school, managed a photographic studio for 2 years shooting countless portraits. During this time, Nilla set up her own B&W darkroom at home to develop film and process B&W prints. "The fascination of prints eventually coming to life in the darkroom, was enough to hook this passion for life - I still use my darkroom". Packing up her darkroom into storage, Nilla set out solo-travelling around the world for 12 months. Also working as a professional Technical Writer and a Usability Analyst, it's only in the last 10 years that Nilla has truly dedicated time to photography. After 30-plus years of travelling, Nilla also built the Image Earth Travel site to share genuine travel stories and help other travellers, but also to display more photography work.
