Northern Moor - - Limited Edition of 15 Photograph

As you'll have likely noticed from viewing my Saatchi Art image portfolio, the amazing - and preferably - 'wild' outdoors is where I'm at my most content. This image entitled 'Northern Moor', says so very much about me. Northern Moor was taken on a cold, snow covered Scottish Moor. Despite many years having passed since produced this image, I can still feel the bite of the icy wind blowing across my face as I composed the image. Laden with extraordinary and fragile ice crystals propelled by a gale force winds, it was impossible to work without eye protection. When nature is this stark, this raw, this dramatic, nothing else matters for me. This was indeed an incredible day. Northern Moor is not an image that would have worked well in colour. The use of Black & White has greatly enhanced the delicate texture of the wind-sculpted snow drifts. The snow on the lens has made an important contribution to what many would consider a bleak scene. 'Bleak' is subjective and in the eye of the beholder of course; personally I see nothing bleak at all, I see but beauty, drama, and solitude. This image succeeds perfectly in capturing a wind scorched Scottish moorland in deepest winter. Northern Moor was produced on 6x7" medium format film camera. Sold unframed, the size of the actual printed image of this artwork is 42.8" x 27.0” and comes with a 2” white border.
