Lisa Swerling makes sparkling miniature worlds in boxes called "Glass Cathedrals", shown and collected all over the world. In the original shadowbox, the figure is under an inch in height. This photograph is of an original shadow box, "Open Canvas". The surfer is an artist of sorts, contemplating his canvas. Inspired by Lisa's local Norcal lifestyle, and the beauty of the ocean and surfing.
