The Plants series began in 2005 and new works are currently being released. These new works explore the innate connection between humans and plants in a natural environment. The artist conveys this concept through the themes of Life and Karma, using materials other than photography. The artist explains their inspiration, stating that they have been observing common plants around us for a long time. They discovered a mysterious yet familiar essence within them, perceiving the plants' aggressive and defensive nature despite their immobility. This observation resonated with the artist's understanding of human instinct. The represented works in this series utilize a technique similar to quilting, where multiple photographs are spliced together horizontally and vertically using white and red threads. This process transforms numerous photographs into a cohesive piece. The choice of white and red colors carries symbolic meaning: white represents life, while red signifies karma, fate, or opportunity, according to East Asian tradition. These works explore the interconnectedness of human experiences, emphasizing the multitude of opportunities and significant relationships we encounter throughout our lives. The varying brightness and exposure in each picture reflect the different weight and emotions associated with different moments in life. The upcoming works will continue to explore the theme of "Life and Karma." Regarding the specific artwork "P020_W03_2020_LE," it is a large edition of 3 + 3AP, created using ink on paper with mixed materials. The artwork comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
