Paul Simonon and his Fender Precision Photograph

These incredible pictures, after the stage lights of an incredible night back, slept in a drawer, imprisoned in a film roll for about 40 years. Now, still unpublished, come to the light with a story about music and friendship, bulbs hanging from hanging wires, iron cabinets, peeling walls, mismatched benches, camping chairs and an irish flag on a stage as a gesture of protest against Her Majesty. These 26 pics are the only existing “witnesses” of back and on stage experience of a legendary concert of The Clash punk band at Vigorelli velodrome in Milan in spring 1981. Made by a very shy, young Joe Strummer’s italian friend. That night a mohawk appeared on the head of the Madonnina statue at the top of Duomo di Milano. And Milano was burning! Ph by Saverio Dottor.
