About The Artwork

This series of images was taken above the potash evaporation ponds outside of Moab in Utah. The stunning colors come from the process of pumping water from the Colorado River deep underground to reach the potash ore. The water dissolves the potash into a brine, which is then pumped into underground caverns. There the water creates a brine which is then pumped up to the evaporation ponds. The blue colors are actually created by adding dye to the brine which helps absorb the suns heat to evaporate the water faster. As the water evaporates you get the different intensities of blues. The image was captured from a helicopter. My work focuses on the graphic nature of our surrounds. From above you see the landscape in a totally different perspective. When I'm shooting from above I'm always looking that unique angle that you do not see from the ground. Using shapes, colors and textures of the landscape to frame the image.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Growing up among the spires of Oxford and exploring the surrounding countryside led to my passion for photography. For me it’s always been about form and shapes, colors and textures. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to travel and explore. Whether it’s mountains, deserts or seas, I am captivated by the beauty of nature. I look forward to waking up before sunrise to hike up a mountain to capture first light; driven by the uncertainty of what will happen. The contrast from the hustle and bustle of city life to experiencing a quiet hike, the pristine reflections on a glacier lake or waking up under the stars looking for the perfect mix of location and light.
