About The Artwork

During my first steps in Australia, I discovered the immensity of the country. It remember me a lot of old American movies with desert going for kilometers with their straight and lonely roads. From time to time we were able to see hidden waste behind farm or at the end of a dirt road some object left there by their owner. They could have had different lives, used as tool to help the man or left to rot due to a failure. Nevertheless as reading about aboriginal spirituality during the trip, I wanted to give a last moment for these object, discarded from life. As they lied down on the ground making a bond with mother nature, I couldn't resist to express the animism spirit of Abo's culture. Following the principles of death photography, I show the subject in his last environment, with no major modifications in post production. The metallic teint added to give another dynamic to the picture. This one was taken on a working time at the Moss Valle Station near Bowen, during the hot season in Queensland. Moving a cattle in different fields to keep them fed, unfortunately for this small one the heat or other predators get his life, and it's skull stay here as a last representation of it.
