Shy As A Bride... Photograph

Cheery, loud, carefree, flamboyant, eccentric, a comedienne from the stars – these are just a few of the wildly colourful descriptions my friends and family may provide you should you ever ask them about my character. What perplexes them and, most of all me, is that when I am in front of one of my greatest loves in life I am all but subdued into a ball of timidity, as demure I become as a shy bride on her wedding night! Why does the camera have such an overpowering effect on me?! I get terribly fidgety and want nothing more than to jump back behind the lens, safe and sound from where I can watch the world and record the stories that float into the waters of my eyes. Consequently, there are very little photographs of me online and more so after becoming a committed visual storyteller, dedicating myself instead to penning the stories of the people and places around me. However, tonight, I thought I would brave it and show you that, if on the one hand the lens does make a bashful bride out of me then, on the other, holding the camera in my hands brings to my soul unutterable joy because I know I can wield it in a manner that will inspire the blossoming of joy in the heart of someone else.
