Collaboration Between Golnaz Jamsheed and Hamid Eskandari (2011) I was around seven when my fascination with a Morteza Katouzian painting took root. I distinctly remember the profound silence that enveloped out home during my mother's afternoon siestas. It felt as if the world paused momentarily, playing a silent game of stillness. Always restless, I would softly navigate the house, seeking quiet mischief. In the living room, an imposing dark oak bookshelf stood sentinel. There was a particular book I was drawn to. Flipping through its pages, I would always pause at the image of my cherished painting. It showcased a young, innocent child in tattered attire, seated under a nocturnal street lamp. Nearby, a shattered jar stood testament to a silent tale. The child's desolate expression spoke of subdued description. Intriguingly, the painting by Morteza Katouzian, titled “In the memories of Parvin E’tesami” (1985) that moved me so profoundly, drew its inspiration from Parvin E'etesami’s poem “Kid with the broken jar”.
