Lindsay Ekstrom is a self-taught, Dallas-based artist who crafts original portraits of Rebels, Founders, and Icons upon whom the course of history and culture have hinged precariously. She is passionate about painting iconic people and personalities from history. Each of her original works tells the story of a leader, musician, or artist, in a relevant and contemporary way. The nuance of modern life is found in her choice of clothing, accessories, and even in the body language of her subjects. Lindsay draws inspiration for these Frankensteined portraits from pop culture, fashion trends, current world events, and details from the lives of her collectors. Lindsay is dedicated to sharing the unknown histories and identities of the larger-than-life figures she paints. She meticulously researches each of her subjects to capture their spirit and their impact on the course of history.
