About The Artwork

In my work, I prefer to focus on the natural world, especially on bodies of water like lakes and the sea. But sometimes I like to get out of my comfort zone and try to capture images in the sharply-shaped, crowded streets of Tokyo. I’m not interested in showcasing the city itself, but more on discovering ways to use light to enhance shapes, patters and lines. I was born in a relatively small town, so skyscrapers are something very foreign to me: I like to use them as the main subject of this type of photography. They are majestic, immense, but can also become very familiar when you spend time with them. The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
