My artistic heritage and interests come from my mother's side (fashion designer) and my father's side (Editor). My creativity needed languages to connect and tools to express!. I worked in prestigious European companies specialized in art & fashion catalogs/magazines. I developed my eyes and taste for quality through the printing process: image/composition/colors/paper). The second experience was with an Editor of Custom hand-made carpets and textile for the Design market. I developed the International market while enjoying my interactions with artists, the world of Art & Design and Media while integrating to my creative/artistic abilities. CANADA: I launched Sigma-Creators in Montreal in 1994, Editor of Designer/Artists' Custom Hand-made carpets, I was operating successfully in the North American Interior Design market through International Art & Design Conventions and events. Interior Design studies in Montreal offered to me a better dialog with the North American Designers. In 2001, I was offered the post of Manager at Roche-Bobois, the high-end French Furniture store in Toronto. Since 2004, the Manager of our Boutique Hotel in Montreal, I enlarged my artistic heritage through Photography & Writing. I continue working on my concept of Photo-Philo-Poetry thanks to the influences the art of tai-chi, ballet, and singing. Passionate about life, my eyes & creativity are stimulated by Raw Nature including all kinds of its expressions! My art is very meditative as it involves at the same time the philosophy and the art of poetry! Shahrzad's photographs move the viewer to an intimate often `”zoomed-in” view of her subject – flowers isolated against an atmospheric backdrop that serves to underline the intricate delicate structure, texture, and hue of her theme. For Ghaffari, her attraction to nature`s beauty, in particular flowers, has become a happy obsession, if not a form of meditation as she focuses for hours on capturing the specific color, emotion, and movement of her chosen image. “A dialogue ensues between what attracts my mind, the subject, and my camera. I try to materialize what I feel and see.” The reduced or minimal compositional format reinforces this sense of meditative reflection as if we are asked to bring our own attention to bear upon the beauty of the image before us.
