About The Artwork
Photographic paper on d-bond edition of nine Venoosa was a performance that took place at Venice's 54 Art Biennale. Together wit my friend Andrea Nicoloso we organized the landing of a large group of actual refugees at the Biennale, bringing the emergency of immigration in contact with the word of contemporary art. The name "Venoosa" refers to both the Sicilian island of Lampedusa sadly well know for the many sea accidents involving immigrants trying to reach its shores and the glamorous city of Venice Venoosa is also a docu-film of the event.
