Vetrina dell'Anima (Window to the Soul) Lorraine Mollica, New York photographer living in Rome, captures the soul of ancient Roman statues and brings them to life. The immobile marble and pensive eyes regain light and seem to observe, from afar, a present that we too struggle understand. This eternal woman's gaze is filled with feelings, emotions, & anxieties that make us realize that those distant ancient beings are still very much our contemporaries. i am a fine art photographer, and I particularly love photographing ancient sculptures at angles that make them seem human. i also enjoy portraiture - i am fascinated by the depths of the human eyes and find all the secrets of our soul in their glances. i am very keen on photographing building facades and "romantic" photos - all those images that are somehow unclear - like reflections in the water or rain... in the depths of those waters and also sometimes in flowers, well i find plenty of answers to life. i have used a wide selection of analogue and digital cameras and currently use a canon eos 5d or whatever camera i have my hands on when the shot needs to be taken. i would spend the rest of my life taking pictures if i could - but happy ones - because creating art makes me smile from within
