walhalla #3 Photograph - Limited Edition of 5

The photographic images were captured within the Steintor-Variety theater, formerly known as the Walhalla-Variety, located in my hometown of Halle/Saale, former East Germany. After 20 years, I felt compelled to revisit this place, where my mother had taken me as a little girl and which had left an indelible mark on me. The result are five compositions which depict various spaces within the theater devoid of human presence, reflecting my recollection of them: here the corridors backstage adorned with colorful, tattered posters bearing autographs; then the the canteen with its imposing metallic doors and child-sized door handles; the makeup room with its array of dense, colorful varnishes on the windowsills; a secluded stage area marked with signs of labor on the floor; the audience parquet featuring quaint bistro tables, alongside the grand stage itself, renowned for its vast dimensions. This composition consists of three elements: two photographs, each measuring 50x70 cm. I recommend hanging them side by side. The third, smaller element, measuring 16x117 cm, can be positioned either beneath or above the two images. However, the composition is easily customizable. The aluminum frame on the back facilitates hanging in any location.
