Nature 2.0 Sponge and Lichen is part of a wider project. Examining what I call Nature 2.0. Nature should include us and all the products and things we make as well. While walking in Spain in the rural countryside I look for situations where handmade objects integrate in one way or another with their surrounding. Man-made objects meet nature so to speak and they start to converse with each other. I want to give the things I photograph a voice. The interaction between the protagonists in the photo is important, their relationship, and their connections. I don't believe in nature anymore in the Romantic way. Nature is not something that's set apart from humans. We are making a part of nature and all we do. I think that if we understood this principle deeply we would make different products. Things that would integrate with their surroundings in a more fluent way after they are "used up". I've never intended to make political art, but today it's almost impossible not to be affected by the climate crisis the world is undergoing. And as an artist, you respond to the world around you.
