Yolo Sunset - Limited Edition of 30 Photograph

This image took a lot of preparation and timing to get it just perfect. After scouting an awesome location with a very old Oak tree which is standing alone in the middle of a sunflower field, I found I had a few issues. First, I had leading lines leading away from my subject, the sun setting under the tree. Second, I needed clouds in the middle of August in Northern California to show up within a 2 week span of when the sunflowers are blooming. So, I found a day with a promising sunset, then I called my friend who owns a farm nearby with a private airstrip and asked him to help me by flying his plane right towards me, straight down the leading lines of my composition. Then, magic happened and the clouds made a leading line from the plane right back to the beautiful sun setting under the limbs of a very old Oak tree. I then decided to adjust my camera settings to get a sun burst flowing out from the limbs for that old Oak Tree.. I took 28 photos with different focal positions and merged them into this final masterpiece. Every single thing in the photo is in focus from front to back and looks exactly as I saw that day. It did take about 12 attempts of flying by, coordinating with the pilot to get him lined up exactly perfect. I chose to only release only 30 editions on gallery wrapped canvas.
