A large part of my record collection is made up of 1960s British R&B. The beat combo of drums, guitar, bass and organ was a staple of the 60’s and there were hundreds of talented bands that never saw the limelight. If I could go back in time then this is the sort of band I would have wanted to see playing live. Three colour silk screen. Red, black and overprinted white detail. I am an animation director, printmaker and sculptor living and working in East Sussex. My style is graphic and reductive. I am inspired by the film, tv and music of the 1960's and work with the bold graphics and vibrant colours synonymous with this era. My work explores the craft and beauty in everyday objects, uncelebrated people and places. Whether it be in the deconstruction of a piece of coastal industrial machinery, or in celebration of the sculpture of a plastic toy soldier, attention to detail and the quality of finish are always key to my work.
