Printmaking: Lithograph, Color, Found Objects, Ink on Paper, Other.
Second of a series of three limited edition hand printed stone lithographs printed during residency at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium.
Each print is made up of spiraling 0 and 1 marks made directly onto the stone with an old rubber stamp. The rubber stamp was found during a scrapyard forage and was the only item left on the back of an empty truck.
The title 'Binary' and the out of control spiraling zeros and ones is perhaps a way of describing my frustration with modern technology and my subsequent retreat to the comfort and control afforded by historical and out dated printing techniques.
Each print in the series has been built up and layered to form a set of prints with increasing intensity. Printed on an offset lithography press on Zerkall litho paper.
