Moodpie is the alias of Jeroen Buytaert, a visual artist from Belgium. Growing up in the art studio of his father, who was a set decorator and designer for television, he inherited the passion for drawing, painting, design, art installations,… After studying graphic design and film, Jeroen started to work as a music video director and VJ under the alias UnleashedVisuals. His visual style was rather dark and underground. Besides creating moving images he always felt the need to draw and paint as well. Moodpie creates visuals with a positive vibe. Using a mix of digital and analog techniques, Jeroen creates both personal and commissioned artwork: Illustrations, paintings, graphic design, murals, 3D objects and art installations. His work is mainly influenced by street art, cartoons and outsider art. Humor and a lot of color are common elements. This style contrasts his audiovisual work, bringing balance like yin and yang. This is his way to bring some positive energy into the world.
