About The Artwork

Distance through flatness (flat color). The movement of light made still (like the images from CERN). The viewer will see through shapes to see the emptiness of the subatomic world. The work is a snapshot of the quantum world. It is inspired by magnetic fields and subatomic particles dancing in and out of existence. The image is sits on the surface of the structure like growing moss. Organic and foreign like the microscopic world we cannot see unaided. The goal is not to understand but to reveal. The excitation and de-excitation of electron form the basis of my scientific inquires and the visual basis of my art. The pieces are ready to hang. The mats I cut. The mixed media pieces meld my prints, paintings, and found paper. The monotypes are made on a wooden press I created. First image and ghost image are the substrate I build upon.

I always considered growing up in South Central Los Angeles a positive. I saw things from a unique point of view. I could see the United States from the bottom up. Never take anything for granted.
