As a Dutch artist in drawing and painting i am wondering. To draw in the etch is one of my favourites. The inner source and research of nature and nudehumanity. "La condition humaine". A research in life and death and life again is searching for existentialarchetypes and new values to come closer by the meaning of la condition humaine. Love life is like a diary of drawings. A dialogue of empathy. That is why I paint with coffee. The social drawings made of coffee, indian ink & bister and charcoal, are a reflection of how i see relations. The materie coffee is interpreted as a connector between social relations. In history we see coffee also as a product of human development and interrelationship. How ever i see the pure basis colour and structure, as an underestimate, arte povera. But it is just this primair material of the colour and smell of coffee, what give us a honest image of reality. My own reality. I realize it is a self-portrait.Portraiture to escape yourself and be one with your environment. The oilpaintings however are more focused in observate the outside of myself in relation to the extern. The material of oil and pigments is a technic to use the physic form in the materials.`It seams like cooking on a canvas. You make a composition with your eyes but in the meanwhile the colors , the structure , the form, live their own lives.
