About The Artwork

The title of the frames and dress photo are taken from a 2007 music album by musician PJ Harvey called "White Chalk". I originally intended to do an abstract collage using the dress photo as a main element, then the ideas started to develop and i drew from the song titles of the album as they appeared to be telling a story. I wanted to create something that doesn't have a time frame associated to it. Something that feels broken but floats. Like the kind of images you might find hidden in your grandfather's old wooden desk: you don't know anything about them, but they make you feel warm inside.
