Lagherta (Vikings - Katheryn Winnick) - Limited Edition of 20 Print

This artwork is from my multiple award-winning linocut series "PORTRAITS".The concept of the series is to present a portrait of a person with his own handwriting in the background in the linocut technique.First I draw portrait sketch expressively with a Japanese calligraphic brush and China ink, then I find personal handwriting of the portrayed person, carefully fit the two, transfer it to the linoleum and finally cut by hand in the linoleum very precisely and carefully. I try to make the cut shapes identical to the stroke of the brush with soft edges, to look as natural as possible.When I'm done cutting, I print the linocut by hand with a press on 300gr high-quality Fabriano paper.The last touch is numbering and signing prints, and stamping my personal monogram in the form of a dry stamp at the bottom of the print.I do the whole process by hand with a lot of attention and love.
