About The Artwork

NZ Falcon “Master of Flight”- your Unframed Limited Edition Giclee print is printed on 100% Italian Cotton Fibre Paper which has archival properties, and is a warm off white colour with a visual softness to its surface. It is finished with hand torn edges, ideally suited for float mounting when framing. Once framed approximate dimensions 24.8"W x 19.3"H. The NZ Falcon has a strong and powerful presence, is extremely agile in flight and capable of flying at speeds over 100 kms per hour. Its Maori name is "Karearea" After spending time with the Karearea at the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust in Blenheim, NZ, I was captivated and have painted a series of 5 Falcon paintings for the Trust, donating funds from the sale of these artworks for 5 years. The Marlborough Falcon Trust run a successful breeding programme releasing chicks back into the wild helping to bring them back from their endangered status.

Realist artist Indigo Wise was born and raised in Auckland, NZ, in 2005 she moved to Golden Bay, NZ, surrounded, and constantly inspired by nature and all it's beauty, realising the creations that are part of my heart and mind. She has always felt a connection with art. Although not being encouraged to pursue her meant she didn’t start painting and drawing until relatively recently, a ‘Creativity for Change’ course unlocked the door and she walked through! When Indigo paints or draws it becomes like breathing to her and space and time have no value. She strives to breathe life into every finished piece of work. Her American Indian lineage is evident throughout her work. It’s important to Indigo that she is making a difference through her art, with the Falcon series she partnered with the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust and money raised from her works helps these endangered birds. For several years Indigo has contributed to Operation Restore Hope, which is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, non-sectarian charity that provides surgical procedures for underprivileged children in the Philippines, and she also makes regular contributions from sales of my artwork, to Mercy Ships bringing hope and healing to developing nations. Indigo has work held in private collections throughout New Zealand, in Australia, Scotland, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and the United States of America.
