THE WORK IS MADE WITH VERY DURABLE MATERIALS, the highest quality screen printing acrylic / vinylic colors and, as a support, Fabriano paper of 200g.

Title: PICTA Frieze 30
Technique: Serigraphy in 21 colours, on Fabriano paper
artistic screen printing, hand-printed with the direct method Is a Unique piece (UNICUM)
Dimensions: 85 x 75 cm (base / height)
Date of execution: 2019
Starting from silkscreen printing, I developed a special personal technique that I’ve been using for many years to create unique artworks (not to produce multiples). The preparatory drawings were engraved on screen printing frames, becoming the protagonist icons of the compositional stories as unique moments. I “painted” in “layers,” on Fabriano papers, applying silkscreen printing by hand, with the direct method, handling the screens as if they were paintbrushes, pencils or engraving points, thus working with superimposed “sets of shapes,” enables me to create sharp images whose strong and clean chromatic impact supports the materiality of the acrylic/vinyl colors, and at the same time renders details with great precision. The beauty of this technique also lies in the trace left by the layer of ink that passes through the screen mesh, and in the vibrant intensity of the colors.
I created the drawings (which were engraved on the screen printing frames) interpreting, through the metamorphosis, fragments of ancient Roman statues of Hellenistic inspiration and the anatomical human body.
The expression of the icon of the male body and portrait represents the relationship between the work of art and nature, between the body represented in the work of art and the anatomical human body.
My composition are reflections on the concept of time as a subjective and cultural memory, connecting the archaeological material to our contemporaneity.
The presence of the classic-inspired portrait connects the classical ancient world to our contemporaneity, as well as the icon of bodies and helmets.
Space and time are the protagonists.

About The Artwork

THE WORK IS MADE WITH VERY DURABLE MATERIALS, the highest quality acrylic / vinylic colors and, as a support, Fabriano paper of 200g. My composition are reflections on the concept of time as a subjective and cultural memory, connecting the archaeological material to our contemporaneity. The concept is the TIME as absolute winner. Represents an "itinerarium pictum" where I have reconstructed a "new story" humanised, alive. The symbols, icons, made through metamorphosis are the tools of my evocation. The evocative icons, become an image, expanding into outer space. The images that allude to the figuration are translated into a compositional code represented by the geometric figures abstracts: circle and line blue. The expression of the body icon represents the relationship between the work of art and nature, between the body represented in the work of art and the anatomical human body. I created the drawings (which were engraved on the screen printing frames) interpreting, through the metamorphosis, fragments of ancient Roman statues of Hellenistic inspiration and the anatomical human body. Starting from silkscreen printing, I developed a special my personal technique that I’ve been using for many years to create unique piece artworks, not multiples, UNICUM. The drawings were engraved on screen printing frames, becoming the protagonist icons of the compositional stories as unique moments.
