Tower Jetty, after the cloudburst - Limited Edition 165 of 300 Print

This image captures the area of the River Thames near Tower Bridge before it was re-developed. The old wooden jetty secured with large wooden pylons sunk into the river bed had been there for years. Walking alongside the Thames after a heavy downpour of rain, I noticed how everything was suffused with a blue-green light, with the jetty's wood a muted brown. The etching and aquatint I made from my sketches seeks to capture these qualities. I drew the etching and aquatint onto copper plate and handprinted each print. This is a limited edition and each print is individually numbered, signed and authenticated. There are minor variations between each print because of the hand printing. This makes individualizes each one. The artwork is printed onto high quality cotton rag paper using the highest quality artists' etching inks. The image size is approximately 8 inches by 6 inches (20 x 15 cm). The paper size is larger.
