1. self portrait Hello? I am Ji-in choi, the artist. if you wonder why I do self portrait, there are 3 reasons. First of all, Sometimes other artists say that painting self-portraits would be great for Artists, So, I have painted self-portrait since 2018. Also In this art-fair, the protrait works can be my name tag and greet the audience instead of me. Secondly, I have prepared to publish a book with other artists about art education of each country and art education of each country. such as, the United States, UK and Japan. In Korea. I am on behalf of korea. if you choose to study in art early, you are usually educated at a specialized academy from 12 till end of university. The book also said that self-portrait was necessary. so I worked on it. Actually the last reanson is real my mind. Some people say, "who wants to get your self-portrait?“ but I can say ‘Van Gogh's self-portrait was only one of his work that time but it became a masterpiece. I surely think it’s really worth. self-portrait show and capture of your moments. some people are like "I like the sense of dream and calm," and collected my portrait. until now, 6 portrait has been sold already. The japanese flower and humming bird on my head in this picture is oil painting It means that I'm still growing up and admitting I'm incomplete. I wanted to express my feeling with rainwater and sometimes I used charcoal and pencils. I'd also like to add some more kind words to the bottom of the painting so that you can understand easily.

“A bird hatches out of a shell. And… The bird stores what it is necessary because of lightens herself so that she flies.” Keeping a necessity and discarding a unnecessity is not simple as much as being expected. I have stored good memories and inspiration to fly higher. On the contrary, I discarded every single bad memories. I am able to fly higher than ever and put myself in sublimation on these process. The parrot I have painted is well known as the bird which brings with love in traditional Korean painting. I hope I am happy to make a picture of the parrot that leads to love and the peony that fetches wealth and honor. In addition, I hope people are happier to have seen and collected my painting. As series of new floral and bird painting, I have followed a train of thought since 2013 that I hope art are straightforward to understand, to continue Korean tradition, and to be loved to the public.
