The title of this print is taken from the song in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' 'Doll on a Music Box' the lyrics and tune of which have stayed with me over the years: What do you see You people gazing at me You see a doll on a music box That's wound by a key How can you tell I'm under a spell I'm waiting for love's first kiss You cannot see How much I long to be free Turning around on this music box That's wound by a key Yearning Yearning While I'm turning around and around It is made on two plates so each one requires two inkings and each print will be slightly different as it is impossible to get the backgrounds identical. It is a aquatint with soft and hard ground.
