About The Artwork

Estampe chine-collé new media I get a lot of my inspiration from nature and it was a bright sunny day just calling for a long inspiring long rambling walk through the country side. My choice is almost always the same. A beautiful wooded area that has a very long history. Winding trough the few stone age structures like menhirs and dolmens with the overgrowth of wild grass and shrubs. The farmers on their noisy agricultural tractors are in the distant fields hidden by the trees and the peaceful woods. There is a silence but nothing eerie about it just a calm passing of several thousands of years of time. History talks of a road that the Romans built and that it passed through here. There are vestiges of older ruins near by and then one comes upon this old tombstone that still carried memories for someone since there were this bouquet of faded dried flowers so neatly placed on it. Memories or a homage but what came across were the sincere feelings of someone. There were no inscriptions to be read anywhere nearby. No idea of who what or when and so sitting on a fallen tree trunk a whirlwind of imagination ran through my head. How do I record my thoughts, on Paper, on Canvas or some other form of medium? Well the choice fell to a new media print in the limited-edition kind as if I wanted the time to continue to flow but wanted to stop for a moment to reflect on something gone by. Method used estampe chin-collé and new media

Born 1954 India Now have my art studio in Angers in France.Have been painting and etching for more than 25 years. My inspiration comes from my working experience with S.W.Hayter and other contemperory artists like Krishna Reddy. Now do mainly digital works like painting and printmaking. For this I have developed a new form of new media prints using digitalized technique and maroufled onto a heavy art paper of at least 300 gms. After the transfer by marouflage of the printed onto the heavy art paper it is once again worked on by the artist to obtain the art effect and printed in a limited edition of 8 prints + 1 artist's proof, with signature and number. The paintings also are digital works on art paper that has been maroufled onto a canvas that is signed by me. All work is done by me in my personal art studio in Angers in France. The work is mostly inspired from my ramblings in the countryside and the sensation or feelings thus produced which I try to share with the spectators of my works.
