Sculpture: Wood on Wood.
The throaty cry of a distant crow echoes through the dense cedar forest. Disturbing the silence, a shivering coolness ran down the hiker's back into his legs. He felt disconnected with the forest and was caught up in thought. As the crow called again, he was already more present and at once felt the sound reverberating through the leaves and into his ears. This time he was not separate from the sound and a peaceful smile emerged across his face. He continued on his hike along the path through the woods in a state of timeless groundedness and infinite space.

Carved from Western Red Cedar, Silent Motion No.1 was born out of awe and respect for life and existence. Paying homage to Being, this form stands in a posture of reverence to itself.
The natural surface being preserved, the viewer can come into direct contact with the wood and its aroma. There is an inherent sparkle in the red cedar which emerges when polished bare and can be seen when viewed up close.
