About The Artwork

I was inspired by the area and time in a flight headed to space when a ship leaves Earth's atmosphere and it becomes space. This area is called Aeropause. Each panel evokes the feeling of turning and tumbling with out gravity and catching glances of Earth's skies through geometric windows of a hypothetical stylized ship portals. This work is part of my signature series of cube sculptures that are designed with the finest engineering to have the ability to unfold and open in order to be hung on a wall.

Veron Ennis is a Florida-based modern abstract painter and sculptor, born just outside of Washington D.C. Her work addresses control in a chaotic world. Creating a balanced composition full of unique, energized tension, each painting is arresting and engaging. Her technique marries precision painting and drawing with improvised and spontaneous applications of paint. She employs sophisticated use of dramatic color and geometry in her paintings and takes it to three-dimensions with her cube sculptures. Ennis’ work has been published in British Vogue Magazine, ARTDISTRICTS magazine, Portfolio magazine, House of Coco magazine, and numerous other publications. Ennis is represented in Naples, Florida by HW Gallery whose artists include Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, Louise Nevelson, Wolf Kahn, and Tom Wesselmann. She is also represented by Von Fraunberg Art Gallery in Düsseldorf, Germany, a gallery of contemporary art focusing on young fine artists as well as renowned international artists. Ennis' work can now be found at RC₂ Gallery, a division of Rosenbaum Contemporary in South Florida, "representing emerging Contemporary artists—the next generation of masters." She has exhibited her works at some of Southwest Florida’s top galleries and museums, including solo and group shows in Fort Myers, Sanibel, Naples, and Cape Coral. She has also exhibited in New York and Miami and is found in private collections around the world. Artist Statement: I believe we shape our own realities. I make art to better these realities. I paint visually navigable spaces free of subject matter and open to all interpretations by layering semi-structural and aleatoric (of uncertain outcome) forms saturated with alluring color. I create this work to optimistically highlight the feeling of traveling into an aesthetically pleasing work of art, speaking to the subconscious sensation of floating through space. Composing a balanced arrangement of multifarious parts plays a major role in the dialogue between myself and the medium during the creation process. While painting, I practice maintaining a peaceful, playful, and meditative state of being so that a sense of equilibrium and harmony in the final composition ensues. The approachable non-reflective surface of custom ground and paints in each work results from a combination of select mediums.
