About The Artwork

This work is part of a series of works that deal with present day consumer culture’s place in the human continuum. The fact that the ills of this oil based consumerism have reached ‘biblical proportions’ is evident in the environmental impact it is having as well as the direct human cost through the wars for resources. The title, organic form and synthetic surfaces of the piece are an attempt to connote that whilst we are sophisticated humans living with our technology and luxury we do so at a cost and instinctively we are operating on some base level of bio survival that manifests in a veneer of sophistication.
